Developers from around the world choose Borland's StarTeam as the top source control management product on the market, according to Evans Data Corporation's "2007 Developer's Choice: Source Control Management Systems" rankings. In this report, StarTeam beat CVS, IBM Clearcase/Clearquest, MS Visual Sourcesafe, MS Visual Studio Team System, Perforce, Serena/PCVS, and Subversion.

StarTeam beat the competition in satisfying its users in file management, merge tracking, performing releases, speed of check-in/check-out, administrative overhead, bug tracking, artifact traceablity, and server usage. In addition, its users rated it within the top three in virtually all categories, giving it the greatest overall rating.
